Rise of Kingdoms: Hermann Prime – Skills, Talent Tree and Best Pairings

Wolf of Teutoburg

Rarity: LEGENDARY

Civilization: Germany

Talents:

Arminius (18 BCE – 21 CE) , known in Germany as Hermann, was chieftain of the Cherusci tribe, commander of an alliance of Germanic tribes, and a German national hero. His German name means “Man of War”, which would later prove apt.

The son of a Germanic chieftain allied to Rome, Hermann was sent to Rome as a hostage, where he was educated. Though raised in Rome, he had never forgotten his roots, nor the weight of Rome’s iron fist upon his people. After being dispatched to Germania as a Roman auxiliary commander, he began to secretly reach out to other Germanic tribes, hope to unite them against the Romans.

His efforts culminated in the Battle of the Teutoburg Forest. The Germanic tribes were intimately familiar with forest combat, while the narrow and muddy roads made it difficult for the Romans to form their vaunted battle lines. Catching the Romans in an ambush, Hermann and his army wiped out three entire legions and took their treasured eagle banners, an event that would be immortalized in Germany’s national mythology.

Though Hermann’s victory secured the freedom of his people east of the Rhine, it would be far from the last battle he would fight. The Romans remained encamped across the river, and were not the kind to take such a humiliation lightly. Yet the liberator of Germania had made a god bleed, and would do so again if it secured his people a future free of Roman tyranny.

Review of Commander Hermann Prime:

  • Hermann Prime is a new must-have commander for KvK in early year 2024, due to the ‘Poison’ effects from his skills, which causes Poisoned enemies to take more skill damage and deal less damage to Hermann’s troop.
  • Hermann Prime is best used in large-scale fights (e.g. KvK murder balls), but not so great for 1v1 duels when compared to other options like Boudica Prime.
