Rise of Kingdoms: William I – Skills, Talent Trees and Best Pairings

The Conqueror

Rarity: LEGENDARY

Civilization: England

Talents:

William I, known as William the Conqueror, was the first Norman King of England, ruling from 1066 – 1087.

In 1066, William I, Duke of Normandy, invaded and conquered England in what is now known as the “Norman Conquest”. In the most decisive battle of the campaign, the Battle of Hastings, the Norman army killed King Harold II and defeated his army near Hastings on October 14, 1066. The Norman conquest changed the direction of England’s history forever. Whether the changes were commercial, religious or cultural, England has forever since been a complementary pair with continental Europe.

In addition, the famous “Domesday Book”, a compilation of land surveys covering most of England and parts of Wales, was also completed at William I’s direction.

Review of Commander William I:

  • William I’s Active Skill (Hidden Bloodline) deals AoE damage to your enemies and also removes the extra skill damage buffs from your enemies. His fourth skill (Scourge of the North) grants increased defense to yourself and your allies for 3 seconds when his first skill lands on enemies. These are amazing effects to have when you are fighting on the field with multiple marches.
  • William I is best used as a secondary commander as there are many other better options for primary commander.
  • Despite being a rather “old” commander in the game, William I still retains his value well and is still today one of the top cavalry commanders to have in your line-up for open-field.
